The Trust has a clear vision to provide exceptional education and training through the delivery of a holistic and vocational curriculum. With the very rare benefit of having a Sixth Form College within the Trust, Richard Huish is uniquely placed to facilitate young people’s progression throughout their early years and school career and beyond into further or higher education, training and employment.
The Trust aims to nurture the individuality of its member academies, identifying the areas of strength and distinctive features of the local community to promote sustainable improvement.
The Richard Huish Multi Academy Trust (MAT) model enables a school the potential to retain its unique characteristics by offering Headteachers a high degree of autonomy in the work of leading their schools, with the freedom to focus on teaching and learning whilst being supported by the Central Trust Team.

The members of the Richard Huish Trust achieve this through a shared set of values:
Pupils and students are at the centre of everything we do – all decisions are considered in relation to the impact on pupils and students.
We consider the environmental impact of our activities and actively seek more sustainable solutions – we are committed to reducing our environmental impact.
We are determined and rigorous in our pursuits of educational excellence – we are individually and collectively committed to making improvements for the benefit of students and pupils.
We strive to add value and are committed to supporting all members of the School and College community to achieve beyond what might be expected.
We have a culture that cares for the individual and promotes inclusivity, equality and mutual respect – specialist support is available for all and diversity is embraced.
Honesty and integrity are central to our work – we are committed to being transparent, open and trusting.
We work collaboratively and constructively as a team in order to best serve the local and wider community – all stakeholders work together positively and professionally.
“Being relatively new to the Huish Trust, we have found them to be really welcoming and supportive. Whilst a few of my team had some concerns about joining a trust, all of my team feel very comfortable in that the assurance given to the school that it will retain it’s identity has proved to be true whilst also gaining all of the advantages and benefits of being part of the Huish Trust”.
“Since joining, I have really enjoyed working closely with Head Teacher colleagues from within the Trust. Being part of a team of Head Teachers that are connected and supported by the Trust’s Senior Leaders, gives us the opportunity at regular meetings, to talk about current topics, school improvement priorities and any other matters that affect us as part of a positive, leadership group”.
“Joining the Trust has also enabled our staff to form professional working relationships with their colleagues in other schools who have similar roles. Collaborative working always inspires and motivates and there are many exciting pieces of work we are now part of in areas including: Maths, Art, PE, SEND and Early Years”.
