About Us:

Huish Nurseries @ North Curry Primary School is a well-established, friendly nursery dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children aged 6 months - 4 years old, open 50 weeks of the year from 8:00am- 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

We believe in creating a safe, stimulating, and fun environment where children can explore, learn, and develop at their own pace.

We are looking for candidates who are able to:

  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for children and families.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's developmental milestones.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to ensure they are reaching their full potential.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating setting, adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures of the nursery
  • Work collaboratively and enthusiastically with a team to ensure high standards of care and education.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent).
  • GCSEs in Maths and English are essential. 
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable.
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Paediatric first aid, a current safeguarding certificate and a food hygiene certificate are desirable.


Hours: 20 hours per week, all year-round. Hours - Monday 8am until 6pm and Wednesday/Thursday 1pm until 6pm

Salary: 

For Level 2 qualified: start at £26,403 FTE , moving to £26,824 FTE  ( £13.47 per hour SCP 8) following a successful probation. 

For Level 3 qualified: start at £27,254 FTE, moving to £27,694 FTE (£13.91 per hour SCP10) following successful probation. 

For Level 6 qualified: start at £27,694  FTE, moving to £28,142 (£14.13 SCP 11) following successful probation. 

Contract term: Permanent/Part-time
