Are you a looking for a rewarding career within a Trust that can offer continued professional development?
Would you like to make a positive difference to young people lives by supporting and developing their learning?
If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an In-School Support Worker to join us at Melton and South Charnwood Inclusion Partnership (MSCIP), located at The Roundhill Academy. The Melton and South Charnwood Inclusion Partnership works with schools in the area to support children and young people who are finding it difficult to thrive and succeed in a mainstream setting. This is an exciting time to join MSCIP as we look to expand our offer to our local schools.
The successful candidate will spend time in our partnership schools to provide support to those pupils who are struggling within a mainstream setting. This will provide opportunities for young people who are at risk of disengagement but who have the potential to be “nudged back on track”. The sessions will be tailored to the individual needs of pupils. The role will also include spending time at the MSCIP Centre to support those who are enrolled onto our bespoke programme of intervention and education.
This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to play a key role in supporting young people to maintain their school placements and avoiding suspensions and permanent exclusion. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a pastoral background who is looking to make a real difference to our young people’s lives.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be educated to degree level with qualifications in relation to education welfare/safeguarding or have equivalent experience
• Have experience of working at KS4 and/or KS3 in a secondary school, pupil referral unit or training provider in a pastoral or similar role
• Be a team player, with evidence of successfully supporting vulnerable pupils who are at risk of exclusion
• Have an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice
• Have the ability to work on their own initiative and to respond flexibly to changing priorities under pressure
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be emotionally and physically resilient to meet the challenges and demands of the role
In return we offer:
• Opportunity to work within a supportive team
• Opportunities for career development with access to apprenticeship and training schemes
• Generous annual leave entitlements
• Access to the generous Local Government Pension Scheme (24% contribution by the employer)
• Employee Support Service (counselling) for employees and close family members (24/7 support)
• Employee Discount and Benefit Scheme
• Opportunity for an annual flu vaccination
