Are you considering a career in teaching?
This role will provide you with the experience you need to apply for a place on our outstanding teacher training programme.
As a graduate you will know the difference a teacher can make to a child’s life.
Teaching is more than just a job. It's a true vocation. When you get passionate teachers, they can hugely inspire young people no matter what their background.
We are looking for confident, imaginative and enthusiastic graduates to work as Teaching Assistants with a view to joining our Ofsted outstanding school-centred initial teacher training programme (SCITT) in September 2023 or 2024.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of a class teacher to provide teaching support both inside and outside of the classroom. The role includes working with individuals and with groups of children for structured interventions as well as whole class support. You will also gain experience of supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), assisting with displays, preparing resources, and supervising pupils during break and lunch times. There may also be the opportunity to contribute to extra-curricular clubs and before and/or after school care for which you will receive additional payment.
The Graduate Teaching Assistant role is the perfect steppingstone if you are considering teaching and want experience being in a supportive and friendly school, with a desire to make a real difference to the lives of young people. Although a place on our SCITT cannot be guaranteed, it is a great opportunity to play a crucial role in the day-to-day life of the school which will benefit your application greatly.
(All SCITT applications are made through DfE Apply and all eligibility and interview criteria must be met.)
