St Mary Queen of Martyrs Voluntary Catholic Academy is part of the St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Academy Trust and the family of Hull Catholic Schools.

Our school is a vibrant, culturally diverse, inclusive and friendly academy located in Hull and serves our local parish St Mary Queen of Martyrs.We strive to accept the mission of Jesus in everything we do - to love, learn and share everyday.

Staff at St Mary Queen of Martyrs are invested in providing a rich and broad curriculum that captures children attention, motivates and challenges them across all areas of learning. Children benefit from developed strong links with local sports clubs and are offered a wide range of sporting opportunities at all levels of participation.

Our children are at the heart of what we do at St Mary Queen of Martyrs and our aim is to provide all children with a creative and challenging curriculum which incorporates a lot of fun as well as enrichment opportunities.

We cater for children aged 3 to 11 years old and we are a diverse and catholic primary school.

We offer a breakfast club provision from 8am Monday - Friday. We also offer 15 hours free child care for all three and four year olds as well as an additional 15 hours for eligible families (30 hours in total).

We encourage children to aim high in everything they do. We believe in developing individual talents and celebrating success in all aspects of school life. Our lessons, supported by new technologies and our extra-curricular provision, will nurture curiosity, inspire a love of learning, foster independence and equip our children with the skills they need for the future.

St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust is made up of a group of fifteen schools including the secondary schools St Mary’s College in Hull, St Augustine's in Scarborough and thirteen primary schools: in Hull there is St Mary Queen of Martyrs, Endsleigh Holy Child, St Vincent's, St Richard's, St Thomas More, St Anthony's and St Charles' and then in Scarborough St Peter's primary, St George's primary, Our Lady & St Peter's in Bridlington, St John of Beverley primary, St Mary's Market Weighton and St Mary & St Joseph in Pocklington.

The School Curriculum

St Mary Queen of Martyrs Voluntary Catholic Academy offers a varied and culturally enriched curriculum for its pupils. We teach the National Curriculum subjects in accordance with current DfE requirements.

Our Core subjects are:

English - Maths - Religious Education - Science - ICT

Our foundation subjects are:

Histroy - Georgaphy - PE - Design and Technology -  Art - Music

All foundation subjects, wherever possible, are taught with a cross-curricular approach, through thematic based topic work. We pride ourselves on our specialist music provision in Key Stage 2 where all children have an opportunity to play a musical instrument.
