All support staff are part of a whole Trust team. They are required to support the values and ethos of the Trust. This will mean focusing on the needs of the young people, staff, parents/ carers and Trustees of the Trust and being flexible whilst prioritising workload and meeting deadlines in a busy pressurised environment.
The successful applicant will be joining a small friendly team based at St Matthias Academy. There is a small car park on site.
Under the overall direction of the headteacher and with supervision from the senior leadership team, to provide clerical, word processing and reception support to the headteacher and staff of the school.
The Receptionist/Administrator will provide:
• To undertake a wide range of clerical duties including filing, photocopying, working on school databases and other IT systems, handling the post and other general office administration
• Maintain noticeboards
• To assist in undertaking a range of administrative duties such as the maintenance of returns, registers and pupil records and liaison with other support and teaching staff as appropriate
• To liaise with parents of pupils on administrative issues and provide other general information
• Assist with paperless methods of communication
• To provide a reception service, receiving visitors in a courteous and friendly manner and receiving and checking deliveries
• To receive telephone calls and enquiries, providing information and taking and passing on messages as appropriate
• To undertake other relevant duties on the request of the headteacher
• To undertake first aid duties as part of the first aid rota and administer medication
• Maintain high standards when managing confidential information, complying with the schools GDPR procedures and legal requirements at all times
