In September 2011, we decided as a school to join the Quiet Revolution that is values-learning. Like increasing numbers of schools across the country, we felt the need to reassess our approach to learning and introduce a values-based approach not only into the curriculum but also into every aspect of daily school life.
Our values were chosen by the school community and are rooted firmly in the Christian kingdom values of Love, Compassion, Justice and Freedom; they also have universal appeal and relevance. The past three years have seen our children develop beyond anything we could have hoped to take on concepts such as courage, empathy, unity and perserverance, apply these to their own behavioural choices, as well as develop their emotional intelligence to become thoughtful, reflective individuals.
