Hours: 32 per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, 2 inset days

Salary: Grade 4 and scale point range (4-7) hourly rate range, full time equivalent (£26,403 - £27,694) and actual annual salary range (£19,356 - £20,303)

Job Purpose

To work under the direct instruction of the SENCO and Senior Staff to co-ordinate and oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s Learning Hub for students with SEND. To provide general assistance to the SENCO in matters relating to SEND support in the school. To plan and deliver support and interventions to students with SEND.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of our SENDCo to support the students with SEND and ensure the effective day to day running of the provision. This role would be ideal for an experienced Teaching assistant, looking for a career progression moving into a leadership role and eager for a new challenge.

Main duties will include-

Supervise and support pupils in the Learning Hub and in lessons, ensuring their safety and access to learning.

Liaise with teachers and the SENCO to create and maintain work packs and to ensure all students have access to appropriate learning materials when in the Learning Hub;

Carrying out general administrative duties in relation to SEND;

Supporting visits by external agencies;

Maintaining staffing rotas and timetables for the wider SEND team.

Support the wider SEND team in managing pupil behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate.

Planning and delivering small group interventions to students with SEND.

 The successful candidate should also be-

● Willing to undertake First Aid training and any other pertinent CPD linked to the role.

● Able to work independently showing initiative.

● Demonstrate strong leadership skills and qualities.

● Have an ability to relate well to both children and adults.

● Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas, taking responsibility for new initiatives.

● Capable of working with staff from all areas of the school, external agencies and partner schools.

● Interested in continuing professional development.
