Welcome to St Peter’s Church of England Primary School. We are a thriving two form entry Primary School providing an exciting curriculum where children are inspired to become lifelong learners. We have 430+ pupils on role and Green Shoots Nursery is also part of our school community. In 2023 we were judged as ‘excellent’ in our SIAMS (church) inspection which noted many strengths, including our strong and supportive community. We are a values-led school and aim to develop the ‘whole child’. Our 2024 Ofsted report said: The values of ‘Courage, Inclusiveness and Active Citizen permeate all aspects of everyday life. These qualities can be seen and heard in the way pupils and staff interact with each other.
’The Christian ethos of St Peter’s Primary is at the heart of everything we do. All our children are valued as individuals and are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our pupils are encouraged to become independent and responsible, active citizens in their community.
While academic achievements are strong, our curriculum is creative and diverse. We hold The British Council’s International Award, Fairtrade Achiever Award, Healthy Schools and Sportsmark Platinum. We are an Eco Green Flag School with a Forest School and are on a journey to Artsmark Gold. This broad experience supports the focus on positive wellbeing which is key to our success. Our broad and exciting curriculum also includes Forest School and Curriculum Cookery.
We have high expectations for every child and we have committed, creative and ambitious teachers, who motivate children with exemplary behaviour an extensive range of after school activities, an ethos which values individuals' strengths and offers good opportunities for development
Comprehensive and personalised CPD programme are available for all staff.
