Our Vision Statement

At St Peter’s we have high expectations where everyone flourishes, achieves and succeeds within a safe, inclusive Christian community. We promote gospel values of independence, respect and empathy. Through an exciting curriculum, children are inspired to find joy as lifelong learners and active world citizens.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and creative deputy headteacher to lead an exciting curriculum, inspiring children to become curious and independent learners. While academic achievements are strong, our curriculum is outward- looking and diverse. As a Church of England school, our Christian values shape our vision, our relationships, and our commitment to a holistic approach to learning. Our values foster a culture where everyone knows that they belong.

We hold The British Council’s International Award, Fairtrade Achiever Award, Healthy Schools and Sports Mark Platinum awards. We are an Eco Green Flag Distinction School and have the Arts Mark Gold award. We hope to find someone who has a vision beyond the National Curriculum! This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader who is committed to high standards, inclusive practice, and the wellbeing of every member of our school community. The deputy will work alongside the head and governors to plan and shape the future strategic direction of the school (and potential transition to academy status).

The successful candidate will:

• uphold the school’s inclusive Christian ethos while promoting respect for all faiths, worldviews and cultures;

• have a pragmatic approach which inspires self-evaluation and improvement;

• be a creative and excellent teacher demonstrating energy, drive and commitment;

• be committed to high standards of achievement, attainment and assessment;

• be a collaborative team leader who is open to change and new ideas;

• ensure robust systems for monitoring, tracking, and evaluating pupil outcomes; and

• oversee the strategic use of data to raise standards and accelerate progress for all groups of pupils.

We can offer:

• an inclusive community where everyone’s contribution is valued;

• commitment to staff and pupil wellbeing;

• an innovative bespoke curriculum which brings the learning alive,

• high quality professional development; and

• a professional, welcoming and supportive working environment.

This role is non-classed based, but with a teaching commitment.

Interviews: Date to be confirmed

NOR: 420 (+ nursery)

Applications will be accepted during the summer holiday break.  Please contact the school from 1 September 2026 to arrange a visit.  All candidates are strongly advised to visit our school.
