Hours: 11:30am to 3:00pm: Monday to Friday (17.5hrs per week)

Salary: Surrey Pay PS3, pro rata salary of £10,051 (£837 per month)

Contract: Part time (term time only + 3 INSET days), until 31 August 2026. Contract will be reviewed in Summer 2026

Are you an Early Years practitioner?

Green Shoots is a nursery run by St Peter’s C of E Primary School. We are looking to recruit a Nursery Assistant to work within our early years team. Green Shoots is based within the school grounds and offers sessions for children aged 2½-5 years old.

At St Peter’s, we pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our children, ensuring all children are known, valued and their individual needs recognised and met. Our new Nursery Assistant will have experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage and an appropriate level 3 qualification, along with the passion and enthusiasm for children and their learning. They will be required to support all children, including those with additional needs, in a fun, engaging and imaginative way, ensuring children learn in a safe, caring environment.

The successful candidate will:

• have experience of working with children in a school or early years setting, along with an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education or Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educators qualification.

• be self-motivated and able to use their own initiative

• follow direction from colleagues and the Nursery Manager

• have a sense of humour and the ability to share ideas and learn from each other

• build a strong relationship with the child and other children in the nursery

• have high expectations for children’s learning, behaviour and personal development

• have a resilient and flexible approach as the day may not always go as planned

• be 100% supportive of fully inclusive education for children with additional needs

• support both indoor and outdoor learning

• be supportive of the school’s Christian ethos

• work within an equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory framework and be an advocate of all aspects of diversity within our school community
