Fixed Term, Part-Time (3 days a week teaching on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

Start Date: 22 February 2021 (flexible - earlier start date negotiable)

We are looking for an inspirational, enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate to join our excellent Geography Department to teach our highly motivated students.  

The position is available due to one of the department going on maternity leave in the spring term 2021. The role would suit a new entrant to the profession, someone seeking to broaden or deepen their experience or an individual looking to make the transition into the independent sector.

This is a fixed term, part-time, maternity cover position teaching over three days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the 2020/21 academic year.  The successful candidate will must be able to confidently teach up to GCSE and there is scope to offer some A Level teaching.  We are looking for an individual who will be able to start after February half term 2021 and the position will be required until approximately April 2022.

• Inspire and motivate students

• Relate effectively and to earn the confidence of colleagues, students and parents/carers

• Ability to teach effectively to GCSE is essential and a willingness to teach A Level is desirable.

• Use strategies that effectively support the School’s policies and procedures

And if you also have:

• A good working knowledge of Teaching and Learning issues reflected in classroom practice

• Excellent organisational and time management skills and willingness to embrace the School’s Digital Strategy

Geography is a popular subject within the school with a team of three enthusiastic and supportive teachers. The teaching rooms are equipped with interactive white boards and are near to two computer suites. There are regular day and residential trips and plenty of scope for varied and diverse teaching strategies.
