We are recruiting for a self-motivated Site Supervisor to join our Estates and Facilities team. The Site Supervisor’s main purpose is to keep the School estate running safely and efficiently on a day-to-day basis. We are looking for someone who not only has reliability and integrity, but would enjoy working with adults in an environment that is built around young people.

The main overall tasks of the job pivot around the School’s daily routine with the requirement to provide support in: Safety, Security, Portering, Maintenance and Cleaning and the Supervision of Cleaners and Contractors.

They include, but are not limited to:

• Safety of the premises and grounds, including being the primary out of hours emergency contact for the Intruder/Fire Detecting Monitoring System

• Operating the Fire Alarm System and ensuring its maintenance

• Portering, including the movement of School furniture, equipment, stores and deliveries, as required

• Operation of the Air Conditioning systems

• Operation of the Heating system

• Operation of the Mains Electrical Supply and Lighting systems

• Operation of the Water Supply system

• General Maintenance, including ascertaining from contractors, basic details as to whether faulty equipment is beyond economical repair

• Monitoring of/ ‘on-the-ground’ liaison with the cleaning contractors

We are looking to recruit someone that meets the following people specification:

• A maximum of a 30-minute journey time to the School

• The flexibility to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis

• The ability to perform minor repairs, or small decorating projects, as part of routine maintenance

• The ability a perform the portering tasks described, such as relocating furniture and navigating a building on several floors

• Self-motivated, with the willingness to work both independently and as part of a team

• To enjoy working with adults in an environment which includes young people

• A commitment to the Safeguarding of children and young people

• Reliability and integrity

About the school

Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing independent girls’ school for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It was founded in 1725 and is now on an attractive 12-acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two-minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
