The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of History and Politics to oversee our thriving and successful History department. The role will be suitable for a candidate who is passionate about the subject and can work with our team to continue to build the profile of History and Politics within the School.

All students study History in years 7-9 and a significant number choose to take History as a GCSE option. 87% of History grades in 2022 were 9-7 and 90% of A Level grades were A*-B.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with proven experience of teaching History at all levels. You will be well qualified with a good degree. Experience of teaching Politics would be an advantage.

Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing, academically selective, independent girls’ school for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It is located on an attractive 12- acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two-minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
