Hours: 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (9am to 2.30pm with 30 minute break 11.25am to 11.55am)
Salary: Grade 5, Scale Points 7 to 8 (£25,191 to £25,590 )

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join a supportive team who work collaboratively to contribute to the continued success of the school. We are seeking to appoint an administration assistant to provide support with all aspects of school administration.

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Carry out routine tasks such as photocopying, filing, emailing, completion of forms, and administration of school activities, to support the smooth running of the school office;
  • Update manual and computerised records/management information systems ensuring accuracy of information held;
  • Undertake reception duties, acting as first point of contact in response to telephone and face-to- face enquiries, and ensuring school's security procedures for visitors are properly followed, to provide a courteous welcome to all stakeholders and visitors and promote a positive and professional image of the school;
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming mail and post outgoing mail;
  • Be the first point of contact for sick pupils, liaising with parents / carers / staff to ensure relevant information is passed on;
  • Arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies and support the ordering process as required;
  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties.

The role will involve an element of supporting in the dining hall during lunchtime service; managing dinner registers, issuing meal bands and directing children into the hall for their meal.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly motivated, well organised and able to work quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision;
  • Is a good communicator, strategic thinker and team player;
  • Has an excellent standard of numeracy and literacy and an attention to detail;
  • Has good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to children and adults;
  • Is forward thinking and able to generate ideas;
  • Is able to cope with new challenges;
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload;

You will be educated to a high standard in Maths and English with an excellent standard of grammar, punctuation and spelling. You will also be experienced in the use of ICT applications relevant to the post i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Office 365.

Experience of working with the SIMS Management Information System  would be beneficial but training can be provided. A knowledge and understanding of the education sector and/or experience of working within a school environment or other busy office environment would be desirable.
