We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Midday Supervisor to join our team and support the smooth running of lunchtimes. The successful candidate will be friendly, approachable, and enjoy working with young people. You should be able to remain calm under pressure, work effectively as part of a team, and bring a positive attitude to the role.
The role will involve providing supervision of children during the lunch period in the dining hall, playground, classrooms and encouraging purposeful play and social activities.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 12.00pm to 1.15pm (6.25 hours per week), term time only.
You will need:
- To be willing to undergo training as required, in order to develop further the role of Midday Supervisor
- Experience of working with children and able to relate well to them
- To be patient and calm by nature
- To be a good role model to the children
- To be able to organise and supervise simple games for groups of young children if required
- To be aware of, and maintain confidentiality on all school matters
Main responsibilities (please see job description for other responsibilities):
- General supervision of children during the lunch period, in the dining hall, playground and classrooms
- Encouragement of purposeful play and social skills activities (if required)
- Supervising children, washing hands etc before eating as required
- Ensuring children tidy up/clear up in a satisfactory manner
- To deal sensitively with playground disagreements, listening to both sides to reach a solution
- Dealing with minor first aid problems / referring to designated First Aider
Salary: Grade 4 Point 5, currently £12.85 per hour with a pay award pending. Current actual salary £3495 per annum
