Thank you for your enquiry about the key post of Teaching Assistant at The Elmgreen School. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work as part of our inclusion team who have a passion to see all students succeed and a commitment to ensuring that the students at The Elmgreen School share that passion. You should be able to demonstrate successful experience in supporting students in one or more of the following: Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, SpLD or SEMH.
Key Responsibilities
Support for Students
- Supervise and provide particular support for students identified on the Special Educational Needs Register, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
Support for Teachers
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with students’ learning
- Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support students to achieve learning goals
- Assist with the planning of learning activities
