Welcome to the Cedars Academy! We are part of the Lionheart Educational Trust, a Leicestershire-based Multi Academies Trust steeped in traditions of academic excellence and holistic development.
We are extremely proud of the high standards and aspirations of our young people which, coupled with inspirational teaching, means pupils show a positive attitude to their learning. Through working hard and aspiring to excellence, we achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils. It is these high standards that have placed the Cedars Academy in the top third of schools in Leicestershire for Progress 8.
We recognise that in order to aspire to excellence our pupils need opportunities to push them further. This is achieved through our expertise of the GCSE and A-Level curriculum, through our close relationship with STEM partners, our work with the Brilliant Club – an award-winning university access charity – and our wealth of extra-curricular opportunities which promote development outside of the classroom.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure that pupils not only have a rewarding and enjoyable experience of school, but also to ensure that it prepares them for the rigors of future study. Our close work with Primary Partners has enabled us to create a curriculum which builds on prior knowledge, and which can be developed to stretch learners in their progress. Moreover, our Sixth Form has been noted as a ‘strength of the school’ by Ofsted (2018).
At the Cedars Academy, we are ambitious and aspirational for every one of our pupils; it is this, we believe, that enables every pupil to attain highly and succeed.
