About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Design Technology, with a preference for a Food Preparation & Nutrition specialist, to join our successful Art and Design Technology Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach Food Preparation and Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4 while contributing to a broad and creative curriculum. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and ambitious department and build upon our recent success, including outstanding GCSE outcomes in the subject.
Food Preparation and Nutrition is a highly valued part of our curriculum, and we are looking for a teacher who can inspire pupils through engaging practical and theoretical lessons. You will help students develop essential culinary skills, understanding of nutrition and food science, and an appreciation of food provenance, while promoting high standards of safety, hygiene and achievement.
There is also the opportunity to contribute to wider Design Technology provision and, for suitably experienced candidates, support aspects of Art teaching.

- A qualified Design Technology teacher with a relevant degree
- An excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge, particularly in Food Preparation & Nutrition
- Passionate about teaching and learning, with high expectations for all pupils
- Skilled at delivering engaging practical and theory lessons
- A confident communicator who builds positive relationships with students, colleagues and families
- Enthusiastic about promoting Design Technology, Food Preparation & Nutrition and Art across the school
- Willing to contribute to a collaborative department and work across DT specialisms
