The Kingston Academy seeks an ambitious Careers Advisor to conduct careers advice sessions with individual pupils and in small groups. This role is likely to suit a candidate who is working across a number of schools in the same role.

The Kingston Academy seeks a Careers Advisor to help support the implementation of our ambitious careers programme within the school, meeting all of the eight Gatsby benchmarks of good practice and educating our pupils on the range of choices and transitions open to them in education, training and employment. The role will involve providing individual and group consultation to pupils across the school.

We invite applications from candidates with the following attributes for this pivotal role:

  • Creative and forward thinking in your approach to supporting pupils with careers information, advice and guidance;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and nurture enduring links with Trust partners, educational and business contacts.
  • Experience in providing careers advice and guidance to young people in either a school or college environment.

Interview Procedure

Our selection procedure will aim to identify with rigour whether the candidate fulfils the requirements of the post and will include the consideration of the candidate’s suitability to work with children and young people. The process will include:

  • Student Panel discussion with Sixth Form students
  • Interview/presentation with Head Teacher/Head of School and senior colleagues.
