Teaching Assistant (TA2) – Catshill Federation

Catshill Federation is looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA2) to join our nurturing, ambitious school community. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, thrives in a team, and wants to make a meaningful difference every day.
About the Role
You will work under the direction of class teachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development. This includes:
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
Helping to create a positive, enabling learning environment
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
Promoting inclusion and ensuring all pupils have equal access to learning
Supervising pupils to ensure their safety and emotional wellbeing
Using your skills to support pupils’ physical, social and intellectual development
Assisting with assessment, marking and record‑keeping in line with school policy
Preparing resources and supporting high‑quality classroom provision
As stated in the job description, you will “attend to pupils’ personal needs… including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters” and “support learning activities as directed by the class teacher”.

Additional Responsibilities
The role includes supporting pupils outside lesson times (before/after school and lunchtimes), attending relevant meetings, and accompanying classes on trips. As outlined in the job description, you may also be asked to undertake “other duties as commensurate within the grade” to support the smooth running of the school.
