Responsible for: Trust Finance Officer
The Spire Church of England Learning Trust is seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly organised and professionally skilled Chief Finance Officer to lead the finance function across our growing Multi-Academy Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability and strategic development of a collaborative and values-driven Trust currently comprising six schools.
Working closely with the CEO, COO and school leaders, the Chief Finance Officer will provide high-quality financial management, technical accounting expertise and compliance oversight across the Trust.
The successful candidate will:
• Provide leadership and management of the Trust’s finance functions.
• Play a key role in ensuring robust financial governance, compliance and audit assurance across the Trust
• Produce accurate management accounts and financial reports
• Support budget setting, forecasting and financial planning
• Lead audit preparation and statutory compliance
• Ensure strong financial controls and regulatory compliance
• Provide financial advice and analysis to leaders and Directors
• Contribute to the continued development of finance systems and processes
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent). Applications from finalists with significant relevant experience may also be considered
• Has strong financial management and technical accounting skills
• Can communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
• Is highly organised, proactive and solution-focused
• Ideally has experience within the education section
