Little Mead Primary Academy are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work across the school in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This role will complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for providing short-term cover for whole classes and supervision for classes of pupils in the absence of the teacher, including the delivery of planned lessons and learning activities to support the progress of pupils.

To support the leadership team by leading and managing a team of teaching assistants, and to ensure staff, including those with cover responsibilities are deployed effectively. 

The Role

The successful candidate/s will be able to motivate and inspire students with a creative approach to problem solving. They will have the ability to work calmly under pressure and to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations. Together with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, they will apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.

Other responsibilities include assisting in the promotion of high standards of behaviour and conduct within the school and to provide support for colleagues through the enactment of school policy and procedure. Supporting colleagues as directed in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy both within classrooms and in other defined learning environments.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Fluency Duty

This role has been identified as falling within the definition of requiring fluency in spoken English. You will be required to speak English with confidence and be able to conduct a conversation and answer questions for extended periods of time.
