The Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form motto of “Let your light so shine” is at the forefront of all that I believe. It is my vision to ensure that every student will get THE best education and pastoral care to enable them to be the very best they can be.

A Lead Quality Assurance Reviewer recently commented that the academy “is not outstanding, it is astounding” and I am determined to see the academy continue to move forward, building on its exceptional existing foundations to ensure that every student is happy, confident and resilient with the skills and the academic qualifications to flourish.

Employee wellbeing is a key part of our values, we have a wide range of incentives to engage staff and ensure they are appreciated and feel valued. Our calendar has an annual well-being day for colleagues to focus on themselves, as well as regular events recognising long service; retirement; birthdays, professional development and various events for fundraising.

We have a dedicated staffroom with an area for relaxation and have plenty of outside green space for your downtime. there is free parking and we have good local transport links to get into London and onto the M25.There is also a leisure centre on the school site, with discounted rates for the gym and facilities.

Tolworth Girls' School is a large, over-subscribed, non-selective, Academy school with a mixed sixth form in a local authority which retains selection at 11+. Most Year 11 girls apply to the large and still increasing sixth form. They are joined by girls and boys from other schools. Attainment on entry covers the entire range with a very slightly larger proportion of higher attaining students than average.  The school has earned many national awards including Investors in People, Healthy Schools and Artsmark Gold.  

We are conveniently situated on the A3 by Tolworth Recreation Centre. Bus routes: K1, 71, 281 and London Country Bus 406.

One of London’s liveliest boroughs. Life revolves around the Thames, with the buzzing market town of Kingston being the main attraction. Kingston High Street runs parallel to the Thames so it many of its favourite restaurants are found situated along the banks of the riverside.

With the popular Kingston University based here there is an abundance of bars and clubs to entertain the vibrant student population and younger residence.

Kingston upon Thames is one of the greener areas of the capital with two royal parks in neighbouring Richmond upon Thames. Local parks hold facilities to cater for all those who enjoy the great outdoors, such as Canbury Gardens which is home to the Kingston Rowing Club boathouse and is in turn a great spot for fishing.

Only half an hour from central London it has excellent train links. Situated near to the A3 and M25 it is also easily accessible by car. The river bus as an excellent alternative to get into Canary Wharf and London Bridge.

Wimbledon Championships - In the neighbouring Merton bordering Kingston, the world famous Wimbledon Championships takes place. Indulge yourself in summer fun with a spot of Pimms, and Strawberries and Cream.

The Thames - Enjoy the beauty of the Thames when the weather permits it on foot, bicycle or boat.

Kingston Markets - Hunt for bargains in Kingston’s 800 year old markets.

Chessington World of Adventure - One of the UKs biggest and best theme parks. Great for those ‘kidults’ amongst us.
