Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form is a thriving, oversubscribed and inclusive school committed to academic excellence and the wellbeing of our students. We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Attendance Officer to join our pastoral team.

The Role

This is a pivotal position within our team. You will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and improving attendance primarily for the Sixth Form while also supporting the school’s main Attendance Officer. Your work will directly contribute to raising achievement by ensuring students access their education regularly and punctually.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring attendance and implementing intervention strategies where needed.

• Liaising with Tutors, Teachers, Parents, and Carers to address concerns around attendance

• Supporting students to understand the importance of attendance and building positive habits

• Contributing to whole-school attendance initiatives, including home visits and work with external agencies

• Assisting with attendance-related administration, data management, and reporting


About You

We are looking for a professional who is approachable, proactive, and committed to helping young people thrive. You will be highly organised with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential skills and qualities:

• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Office 365)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional under pressure

• A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and promoting positive attitudes to education

Desirable:

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting

• Knowledge of Arbor or SIMS (school information systems)

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
