Receptionist | Administration Assistant

Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form

Full-time (36 hours) or Part-time/Job Share | Permanent | Term-time + 2 weeks holiday work

FTE: £30,530 – £32,407 | Actual starting salary: £27,711, rising to £29,415 with annual increments

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Receptionist/Administration Assistant to join our dynamic office team. As the welcoming face of our school, you’ll be the first point of contact for parents/carers, students, and staff, managing communications and supporting the smooth running of our busy school office.

• Visitor management and safeguarding protocols

• Front reception duties

• Internal and external communications

• Administrative support for the Leadership and Pastoral Teams

• First Aid (training provided)

About You

You’re approachable, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people. You’ll be highly organised, detail-oriented, and a confident communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively within a small, friendly team. This role includes first aid responsibilities as part of the school office team, with full training provided.

Essential Skills & Qualities

• Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Office 365)

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Calm, flexible, and professional under pressure

• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and promoting positive attitudes to education

Working Pattern & Salary

Full-time:

• Term-time (39 weeks) + 2 weeks during summer break

• Mon–Thurs: 8.30am–4.15pm | Fri: 8.30am–4pm

• 36 hours/week | Actual salary: £29,415pa

Job Share Options:

• Post A: Mon–Fri, 8am–1pm | 25 hours/week | Actual salary: £19,244pa

• Post B: Mon–Fri, 12pm–4.15pm | 21.25 hours/week | Actual salary: £16,357pa

Support staff are paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
