Overview

Tweeddale is a successful, well resourced, 2 form entry school with a purpose-built Foundation Stage facility for our Nursery and Reception classes. There is a well equipped ICT suite and interactive white-boards in every class. In addition, Tweeddale has Learning Support Assistants in every class, good quality curriculum resources and our own heated swimming pool.

We began investigating the possibility of academy status early in 2016. Following careful consideration of the issues and its options, and having consulted staff, parents and other stakeholders, the Governors of Tweeddale Primary School decided that the school should convert to academy status as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Having completed the necessary legal processes and reached an agreement with the Department for Education, the school formally joined the Trust on 1st September 2016.

As an academy in the Greenshaw Learning Trust, Tweeddale will maintain its existing character and ethos, will not change its name or image or admission arrangements, and will maintain existing terms and conditions for its staff.
