Learning through diversity

Waverley School welcomes children into its Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form provision. Since gaining specialist Humanities status in 2006, there have been sustained and rapid changes resulting in even greater improvement. Having already been judged outstanding by Ofsted in April 2010, and again in December 2012, we achieved a further outstanding judgement in 2014. These fantastic achievements are recognition of the excellent relationships between staff, parents and carers, pupils and the community. In recognition of its high focus on staff development, research and school improvement Waverley School holds the Investors in People Gold Award and has been designated as a Department for Education Teaching School since March 2014.

We are an all through school for pupils aged 4-19, with a resource base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Our school community benefits greatly from our new, landmark award winning buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training. Waverley School makes its inclusive vision a reality. We do have high expectations of behaviour, attendance, uniform, achievement and attainment. We believe in every child being given the opportunity to achieve his or her potential and even go beyond. We have a strong, well-qualified and committed team of staff who aim to do this.

Our Values

Waverley Education Foundation works hard to ensure that all of our students, regardless of their age, background, or experiences, are well-equipped to be members of a modern, British society. We have four common values across our schools: humanity, equality, aspiration, and respect. These are firmly embedded within the culture of learning and we are proud that our student community demonstrates these impressive behaviours daily.

We promote a culture of ‘learning through diversity’. We believe that education is about transforming the lives of young people so that they become successful adults, helping to deepen their understanding of human values and attitudes and developing their vision, ambition and aspirations. We also believe that education is about preparing pupils so that they gain the confidence and capacity to flourish in the British and global society of today and tomorrow. We work collaboratively to ensure that pupils are able to make carefully considered lifestyle choices, develop and maintain friendships (including the responsible use of social media and digital technology) and discover forms of work that are fulfilling, enjoying and enriching their lives through discovery, reading and culture and face the future with calm intelligence and resourcefulness.

Waverley Education Foundation Trust

We are a multi-academy trust that is proud to serve our community. We have two schools: Waverley School, a popular all-through academy, and Waverley Studio College, providing for a broad community of learners with vocational-focused education.
