Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Lecturer in Induction and Distance Learning - HMP Bristol.



This is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours per week.



Day to day duties of the role

* To deliver a high-quality curriculum delivering Induction and Distance Learning courses or an alternative as led by the Weston College management team.

* Developing and maintaining a full course file including comprehensive scheme of learning and lesson planning.

* Enriching learning through additional projects and broader activity beyond the qualification delivery.



Required skills and qualifications

* A Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.

* Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.

* Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills.

* Highly motivated and setting high standards for self and others.





About HMP Bristol

HMP Bristol, formerly Horfield Prison, is a Category B men's correctional facility in Bristol. Operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, it provides diverse work, training, and education opportunities for residents. Residents at HMP Bristol access diverse courses in subjects such as maths, English, IT, health and safety, food safety, catering, cleaning, NVQs in warehouse and storage, performing manufacturing operations, bike mechanics, peer mentoring, and healthier lifestyles. The prison conducts monthly employability skills workshops to aid residents with CV writing, job applications, and interview skills.
