Personal Development Tutor (Term-Time Only)

At Weston College, our mission is simple: Creating Brighter Futures. We're one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, and we know that education is about much more than qualifications alone. That's where our Personal Development Tutors come in.

Why this role matters

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and guide the next generation. As a Personal Development Tutor, you'll help students develop the skills, confidence, and mindset they need to succeed - not just in college, but in life.

You'll bring the College's STEPS framework to life:

* Skills - building confidence, communication, and employability skills.
* Topical Points - exploring real-world issues that matter to young people.
* Engagement - getting students involved in events, workshops, and enrichment activities.
* Progression - work with our careers and employability coordinators to support learners to move on to university, apprenticeships, or skilled work.
* Self-Management - empowering them to take ownership of their goals and future.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same. One morning you might be delivering a group tutorial session on digital wellbeing, and in the afternoon helping a student secure their first work placement. Later in the week you could be working with colleagues to plan new and innovative ways for their learners to develop life skills and knowledge.

You'll be a trusted guide for students, working closely with curriculum teams and support staff to make sure every learner feels motivated, supported, and ready for their next steps.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you:

* Have experience working with young people or adults in an education or support setting.
* Awareness of issues shaping learners' lives and work today
* Understand the challenges young people face as they progress through education and into work.
* Are organised, motivated, and able to engage and inspire others.

We're especially interested in applicants with a background in Sport or Health, though applications from all backgrounds are welcome.

Benefits

* 2-week Christmas closure
* Potential for hybrid working opportunities
* Volunteering Days (Up to two days of paid volunteering leave per academic year
* Flexible start and finish times outside of core hours, 9.30am - 3.00pm, Monday to Friday (only available during holiday periods for Academic staff)
* Dedicated staff welfare officer and wellbeing champions
* Generous pension scheme
* Local and national staff discounts
* Free parking across sites
* Various staff committees including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Autism and Menopause
* Focus on staff wellbeing
* Wellbeing@weston hub
* Eye care including free eye test and a contribution towards glasses
* Annual staff conference with guest speakers
* Employee assistance programme - available 24/7, 365 days a year
* Training and development opportunities with a focus on progression
