The City

Our Location

Bristol is a city with a vibrant culture – it often wins awards as the best city in the UK. The grand old buildings, proud maritime history, and independent shops make Bristol unique when compared to other big cities in the country. It’s close to the countryside and to the sea, offering opportunities for fun throughout the year. From the world’s most famous graffiti art to Britain’s most prominent engineering feats, Bristol is a fascinating city in England's West Country region.

The school is situated in Brislington, Bristol. It first opened its doors in 1956; the site then housed an Infant and Junior school. The schools amalgamated in 2006 and became West Town Lane Primary. Then, in 2012, became one of the region’s first Standalone Academies. We see ourselves as a community school in nature and we always work closely with other local schools and the Local Authority.

West Town Lane is a 3 – 11 three form entry primary school. We have a 30 place Nursery and a 630-place primary.

Apart from the main classroom areas, there are a wide range of purpose-built facilities, including the Nursery, Discovery and Aspire buildings. We also have a Multi Usage Sports Area (MUGA), a large field containing football pitches, an adventure playground, Pirate ship and Forest Schools Area.
