This is a challenging but ultimately rewarding opportunity to work in our busy school for pupils aged 2-11 with a range of severe learning difficulties and complex medical and care needs.
Brooklands School is seeking to appoint an Intervenor Teaching Assistant for our site in Wray Park Road. The role will be based in one of our Yellow pathway classes, supporting a specific pupil with a multi-sensory impairment. You'll be working as part of a team of intervenors. Half of the week will be working as a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, within the same class and the other half of the week will be working in the intervenor role, supporting a specific pupil. The contract will commence 3rd September 2025 and will initially be on a fixed term basis to 31st August 2026, at which point it will be reviewed.
Ideally, candidates will have experience of working with children with special needs, particularly complex needs or PMLD. The ideal candidate would be intervenor trained. Individuals with a background working in medical or health care are encouraged to apply.
We have a comprehensive induction process and ongoing training programme for all our staff. The successful candidate will be given full training for the intervenor role.
Hours in this role are 8.30am - 3.30pm 4 days / 8.15am to 3.30pm 1 day - there is some flexibility with this working pattern.
