We seek to appoint a Caretaker to be responsible for the provision of looking after and maintaining our school grounds.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:

Demonstrate previous experience and ‘DIY skills’ to identify, monitor and carry out minor repairs, maintenance and redecoration.

Demonstrate knowledge of moving and handling procedures and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc).

Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions.

Awareness of COSHH regulations, applying knowledge gained as appropriate.

Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils, contractors and outside users of the school (hirers).

Duties include ‘porterage’, cleaning, pool checks and minor repair work, ensuring buildings are safe and secured. The school covers a large site, including a swimming pool, and there are a number of external lettings. This will be a key role in our evening and weekend lettings provision, hours may be subject to change to meet the needs of the school.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

5 days a week shifts including Saturday & Sunday* (*alternate weekend shift rota + absence cover)

5 weeks annual leave

Wimbledon College is lucky to be extremely well connected by transport links, with excellent provision by national rail (to Wimbledon, Wimbledon Chase, or Raynes Park), tube (to Wimbledon), Tram (to Wimbledon or Dundonald Road), Busses (including 57, 131, 200, 93 and many more).
