Overview

Windlesham Village Infant School achieves excellence by creating an enjoyable, secure learning environment with high quality planning and teaching.

We are ambitious for our children: we want them to discover, explore and question their world and to be the very best that they can be.

But it is more than that: we want our children to develop a love for learning and to be happy and confident with who they are.

You will find our school has a vibrant atmosphere, and visitors to the school comment on the pride children take in their learning, and the high quality of work on show.

Our vision for the school focuses on three key areas. We foster academic and personal development by providing a caring and challenging environment. We strive to enable children to be confident in the areas of technology as this is clearly an essential component of tomorrows world. We recognise that none of this will happen unless our teaching and support staff are well-trained, dedicated, and engaged.

Our children, parents, governors and staff are proud of our school. Please come and visit us to see for yourself.

About Us

The school was founded in 1814 and occupied the present site in 1825 originally consisting of one room in which were housed 140 children in 4 groups! Extensive new accommodation has been added over the years and it now boasts a purpose built library as well as spacious classrooms and art areas.

From September 2011 Windlesham has been a 2 form entry Infant School. We are proud of our heritage and close links with Windlesham village and church. It is appropriate for a school with a long history that we should cherish traditional educational values as well as looking forward and being prepared for the new experiences that life will bring.
