We have an opportunity for a talented and committed teacher of Mathematics to take their first step into leadership with a TLR for Third in Maths as part of a full time permanent contract starting on 2nd September 2024.
Mathematics is a thriving and popular subject at Winterbourne and the maths faculty are a large team of innovative, enthusiastic and supportive teachers who are always working on improving practice. There is opportunity to teach maths at all levels from year 7 to year 13, including additional maths, A Level maths, A Level further maths and core maths as well as extra-curricular activities. The third in maths post is currently linked to the development of teaching and learning and curriculum at KS3 and there is a focus on progress of the most able and of the disadvantaged.
Mathematics at Winterbourne aims to be inspiring and challenging for all students. Teachers are passionate about their subject, care about their students and understand how they learn best. Students enjoy maths and are resilient, have a positive attitude and are not afraid to try. The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality lessons, motivate, challenge and inspire our students. They will be committed to closing gaps and raising attainment across all abilities, whatever the starting point. They should have a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to improve their own and the faculty’s practice. This position is offered with a TLR C of £3,214 per annum,
