Teaching Assistant

Contract: 32.5 hours / 38 weeks
Term: Initially, 1 year fixed term
Salary: NJC points 5 - 6 (£15,995 - £16,286 approx.)

JOB OVERVIEW

Peareswood Primary School is an inclusive and supportive primary school in Erith, with a love of learning that encourages every individual to aspire to be the best they can be. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at Peareswood Primary School in Erith. This role is varied in the support you will provide for the children, and will vary from taking small groups, working individually or supporting the whole class.

We are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual who shares the same passion for learning as school team and strives to seek excellence in every day.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
  • Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Accompanying groups on trips.
  • Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
  • Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
  • Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
  • A relevant level 3  supporting teaching and learning in schools qualification
  • a proven ability to work on their own initiative.
  • a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • the ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
  • a can-do attitude.
  • a commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
