An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and inspiring Lead Teacher of English to join Wreake Valley Academy on a permanent basis from 27th August 2024. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Lead to join our friendly and dynamic team. As a Lead Teacher of English, you will play a pivotal role in developing, planning, and delivering high-quality and engaging curriculum for students in Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.

We are looking for an outstanding lead teacher with a proven track record of success and raising pupil outcomes. You will join the Bradgate Education Partnership family, a high-performing and supportive network of primary and secondary schools with some of the best teachers in education.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers through your enthusiasm for teaching and learning.  The ideal candidate will be creative and have ideas around how to drive attainment.

This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to be part of a supportive team and have access to highly supportive subject mentoring with a strong professional development programme to ensure that Teachers Standards are well developed.

 The ideal candidate will:

• Hold QTS status

• Lead on our whole school reading approaches 

• Implement strategies to support high levels of behaviour

• Support Head of Department and Head of KS3 with curriculum and assessment planning 

• Possess excellent subject knowledge with the ability to articulate their expertise within their teaching

• Possess the ability to teach high quality lessons and consistently provide learning opportunities that progresses students’ learning and achievements

• Be an excellent communicator and able to build positive working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and stakeholders.

• Be a team player – whilst it is important as a secondary teacher to work independently, there are regular points of the working day and week where working alongside support staff and other teaching colleagues is vital, therefore working as part of a team that is supportive and effective is paramount to the role
