Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a 3-16 Church in Wales school that serves the historic city of St Davids and surrounding areas. Based in the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school is a caring, inclusive and welcoming environment where pupils and staff are proud of the Christian and community ethos.
The school has strong links with the local community where there are extensive opportunities for sports, outdoor pursuits and social and cultural activities. YPDVA has an outstanding tradition and reputation for inclusive curricular and extra-curricular participation and achievement with amongst the best outcomes in the county and beyond. The school boasts extensive links with local artists whom we regularly collaborate with for both curricular and extra-curricular activities such as the current transition Save our Seas project and recently contributing to the Grahame Hurd-Wood ‘Portraits of a City’ exhibition at the Senedd.
Required for September 2025, the school is looking to appoint a forward thinking and innovative practitioner who is passionate about their subject.
The ability to teach Art up to and including GCSE is essential. Art is becoming an increasingly popular and inclusive GCSE option with excellent outcomes. The ability to offer a second subject would be an advantage. Applications are most welcome and encouraged from both primary and secondary trained teachers.
Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council. We aim to support vulnerable children and adults at risk to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We are committed to ensuring their safety and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.
This policy applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and also service providers that are commissioned by the Council. Safeguarding is everyone's business whether they work for, or on behalf of the Council.
