Overview

With record breaking examination results and the title of the 'most improved school in South Glos', these are indeed exciting times for Abbeywood Community School. This is a caring, dynamic and vibrant school where ambitions are forged and dreams realised.
There is a relentless drive across the whole school to achieve the highest standards with a deep commitment to meeting the needs of all learners.
From the moment I stepped into Abbeywood Community School I was struck by both the excellent relationships between staff and students and the incredibly positive and purposeful learning environment. Abbeywood Community School is both inclusive and totally committed to providing the highest quality of education in the broadest sense. We aim to develop each individual through excellent teaching and a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, to ensure each student can become a confident, well-rounded citizen, ready to take their place in society.
I have always believed passionately in the power of education as the 'master key' to unlock the doors to successful lives, and I know every member of staff here at Abbeywood is utterly committed to making sure each and every student is equipped with the knowledge skills, confidence and motivation to have the very best life chances to thrive in our modern world.

About Us

We are committed to the highest standards of achievement possible in everything that we do. Our staff are one of our greatest assets and the quality of their teaching and support is reflected in our improving GCSE and A level examination results. We are also firm believers that students should have a wide range of opportunities to experience and develop additional skills to prepare and equip them for successful futures. We have an extensive enrichment programme which includes a range of sporting activities, art, drama productions, music clubs and a number of trips and visits which extend and develop learning outside the classroom. We want students to enjoy their learning at Abbeywood Community School and to have the enthusiasm, skills and understanding to continue their learning once they leave the school at 19. We use new understanding about learning and technology to make sure that we cater for the needs of every individual student, equipping them with the tools and skills for success in the 21st Century.
