Welcome to our school website and to Headley Park Primary School – part of the Cathedral Schools Trust. Working as Head Teacher of this wonderful school is a tremendous privilege. Our children are fantastic, our staff are brilliant and we have a strong and active community of parents, friends and colleagues who all pull together to give our children the best possible education and experience of school. Safeguarding of our pupils is at the heart of everything we do.  Feedback from parents is very important to us (see March 2017 survey results) and it is great that 98% of those who answered said they would be happy to recommend the school and saw it as a safe place for their children.

Ofsted gave the school an outstanding grade in 2013. In particular they said that children were safe and:

  • Behaviour is excellent across the school because of the consistent approach to behaviour management and the mutual respect that exists between pupils and adults.
  • The school’s systems for ensuring that teachers always deliver high quality lessons are very robust. The proportion of high quality teaching has increased since the previous inspection. The school provides excellent professional development for all staff.
  • Pupils are extremely articulate, polite and confident. They are proud of their school and are very keen to progress in their learning.

About Us

Headley Park Primary first opened in 1953 as a small local Primary School. Demand has led to its expansion and we now have an annual admission of 60 pupils into Reception a total of 420 across the school. The School has the benefit of a part-time Nursery class for children over 3 years of age.  Children either attend Mon, Tue and Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday. Parent/carers can benefit from the School Breakfast Club that starts at 8am and the After School Club which is open until 6pm daily. At Headley Park we are lucky to have a large sports field and play area where the pupils can participate in sports/play activities during the School day and the many after school clubs. The School is supported by an active Parent Teachers Association which organises regular fund raising and social events throughout the year. In 2013 we were rated Outstanding by Ofsted who commented: “Pupils make rapid progress in all year groups and by the end of Year 6 their attainment in English and Mathematics is well above the national average.  All groups of pupils make outstanding progress due to the very well planned curriculum focusing on the needs of each child” Please see the Ofsted Link for the most up to date school results.
