Learning Opportunities

In our wonderful school, children are introduced to exciting learning opportunities that not only prepare them for the next stage of their education, but for the rest of their lives.

Family Feeling

We are small enough for everyone to know each other, and for us to develop a safe and secure environment with a ‘family feel’, while being large enough to offer excellent facilities and opportunities for the children. It is the best of both worlds!

Creative Learning

Our ‘impressive curriculum’ (Ofsted 2015 quote) is based on a thematic, ‘Topic Based Approach’, which focuses on developing lifelong learners. It aims to inspire the children, while developing their ability to become independent learners and thinkers.

Badbury Park Primary School

Badbury Park will be a vibrant, friendly place where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in teaching skills, sharing knowledge and building special memories that children will take with them through the rest of their lives. We believe that through inspirational teaching, determination, love and laughter, the children in our school can achieve their greatest potential, regardless of their starting points in life. We aspire to do this through a creative curriculum, with outdoor learning and play at its core, promoting confidence, collaboration and engaging curiosity. We believe in teaching, modelling values and preparing children for life in the 21st Century, giving them a solid foundation for their future.

Ferndale Primary School

Ferndale was originally built as a separate infant and junior school, however, due to the expansion of Swindon (north of the railway line) a larger site was acquired in Ferndale Road in 1905. The new infant school opened in 1907 and just before the Second World War, additional buildings were added to the site.

In 1946 the school was reorganised as separate infants and junior schools.* The junior school was extended in 2005 and in 2008 the schools merged to form Ferndale Community Primary School.

In September 2015, we opened our own on-site nursery, designed to take children from 2 years old. In February 2016, the school became an Academy and joined The Blue Kite Academy Trust. We are now known as Ferndale Primary and Nursery School. We are a two-form entry primary school with one additional class in KS1, bringing the total number of pupils to 450. We have 15 classes, two in the Foundation Stage, five in KS1 and eight in KS2.

We are a slightly larger than average primary school.

Ruskin Junior School

Ruskin Junior School is a large, vibrant, and friendly junior school where our core beliefs centre around instilling a love of and a passion for learning. We believe in teaching skills, sharing knowledge and creating an environment from which special memories and moments can be taken away and cherished for a lifetime.

Our school’s value changes termly and is a constant thread that runs through the curriculum, binding our ethos to what happens in the classroom; they are designed to instil a strong sense of responsibility and citizenship, essential qualities in preparing our fledgling generation for the future.

We have a clear understanding of the crucial role parents and family play in their child's education and consequently, are always looking to forge stronger links between home and school: the success of our school is dependent upon the strength of the bonds we build with everyone in the school community.

William Morris Primary School

William Morris will be a vibrant, friendly place where the children are at the heart of everything we do.
