IT Technician

Job Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Technician to join our brilliant IT department on a permanent basis. Working under the direction of the Network manager, the successful post holder will provide first line support for IT issues escalated by staff and students. Other aspects of the role will involve providing guidance and assisting with software applications. Our IT team requires an individual with a good understanding and demonstrable knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems. The successful candidate must have some experience of IT support, inclusive of the repair and maintenance of desktops and laptop hardware.

As the post is also a customer facing role the post holder must have well developed interpersonal communication skills. The post holder will need to work meticulously and methodically prioritising their workload to meet the school’s needs. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity for professional development and industry qualifications.

Backwell School is located within the semi-rural village of Backwell. As a large comprehensive school we provide secondary and post 16 education for over 1700 students within the local catchment areas. Judged by Ofsted as Good in January 2020, the school has an excellent reputation in the local area and is oversubscribed in regards to student applications.
