Backwell School is looking to recruit an engaging and dynamic teacher of Business Studies on a full time or part time permanent contract from 1 January 2023.
We are looking for someone who can:
• be an inspirational classroom teacher who is dedicated to provide high quality teaching and learning.
• drive students to raise standards to achieve at all levels; and
• demonstrate commitment to the values and core beliefs of Backwell School.
The successful candidate will be required to teach Business Studies at both KS4 and KS5. Being able to teach a second subject (such as A Level Economics) would be very desirable.
Our Business Studies and Economics department is a successful and growing department within the Social and Economic Sciences Curriculum Area. Lead by the Subject Leader for Business Studies, the department is committed to inspiring its students. Business is offered as a GCSE and a CTEC level 3 course. In most years, around 90 students opt for GCSE Business, while CTEC Business is a popular choice at Key Stage 5.
Teachers of Business Studies teach in brand new, state of the art facilities, within our newest building, opened in September 2021. Classrooms are bright and spacious with wonderful views and modern teaching technology.
Backwell School is a large comprehensive school with over 1700 students of which 350 are in the Sixth Form. We have a 20 minute tutor period at the start of each school day which comprises of student wellbeing checks, administration and teaching of Personal Development (PSHE) materials as well as assemblies from the Heads of House and the School Leadership Team.
