Our mission is to provide specialist academic teaching that ensures access to the most prestigious universities and higher level apprenticeships for any young person from any background.

Students in Leicester City and the surrounding area have a right of access to ‘Powerful Knowledge’. According to Professor Michael Young (UCL Institute of Education), this is knowledge that is distinct from ‘common sense’, systematic and specialised. Powerful knowledge empowers students, in order to take them beyond their own experiences. Building on the strong A-Level expertise at Beauchamp College in Oadby and delivering high quality teaching of powerful knowledge across a traditional academic curriculum, we will ensure that our students’ achievements provide access to limitless future prospects.

At Beauchamp City Sixth Form we are determined to develop each individual holistically and encourage participation in a wide range of extra-curricular and supercurricular opportunities that will enable students to flourish and maximise their own talents.

As a school based in Leicester City Centre, we will foster a sense of social responsibility to the local community, as well as encourage students to engage with national and international issues to support them in taking control of their future.

We work in partnership with independent schools who have traditionally had the most success in securing places at Oxford, Cambridge and other highly prestigious universities. In addition we are fully engaged with admissions tutors, working to understand how to ensure that our students have the best possible chance of continuing their education in a rich and challenging academic community. We are also working in partnership with local businesses in order to bring our students unique opportunities to engage in work experience that prepares them for their future career.

Our focus on academic excellence and holistic development means we challenge our students to go beyond the ordinary and ask the questions that really matter.

As part of the Lionheart Educational Trust, our sixth form builds on the commitment to academic excellence established at Beauchamp College in Oadby. 

Our aim is to inspire, educate and empower our students through a traditional, academic curriculum, leaving them with a life-long love of learning! 

The Lionheart Educational Trust has a long history of delivering excellent academic opportunities at A-level. Over 80% of our students successfully go on to study at university, including a significant proportion transitioning onto STEM courses and Russell Group universities. We provide many work-related opportunities resulting in many of our students enrolling on high-quality apprenticeships and ultimately going on to find success in the world of work. 

We also strive to provide extra-curricular activities beyond the classroom, including work experience placements, university workshops, DofE or international volunteering opportunities to destinations such as Peru and Tanzania.

Regardless of background, our aim is to ensure that our students are able to succeed in their future, through breaking down barriers that may impact on success. We are excited by the prospect of delivering a new and unique approach to sixth form education in Leicester City and hope you will join us on our journey to excellence.
