We are seeking a Home School Link Worker to join our team at Broadmere Primary School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

An integral part of the Safeguarding Team, responsible for providing a trusted and effective link between school, pupils and their families, improving outcomes and opportunities, taking on responsibility as DSL. Delivering focussed family support to improve the social, emotional development, health, wellbeing and attendance of pupils at the school. Ensuring effective support and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with School and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

Position: Home School Link Worker

Contract: Part time, permanent

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Salary: Surrey Pay Scale 7 (£32,512 FTE, actual salary £12,676)

Key responsibilities include:

• Work preventatively with identified families to provide early intervention, signposting, support and guidance

• Initiate contact with parents/carers within a school context fostering positive relationships and support building their engagement with their child’s learning and development

• Ensure and facilitate effective communication between school, parents/carers and external agencies

• Take on responsibilities of DDSL (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead)

Requirements include:

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification).

• Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development

Desirable

• Previous role involving multi-agency working (e.g. working with social care, police, CAMHS)

• Relevant experience of working with vulnerable children in an education setting
