Welcome

‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.’ Peter 4:10

At Bulford St Leonard’s C of E Primary School, we have a very special community with one clear ethos and vision: to create a better future for ourselves and all of God’s creation through service, stewardship and success.

I am so proud to be the Headteacher of this amazing school, having been here for 14 years, from NQT through to Deputy and now Headteacher.

As a school, we have had our challenges over the years but we are currently making marked improvements in developing our curriculum, teaching and learning and in the extra curricula offer our children receive. With an incredible staff team, a supportive community, continuous support from Acorn Education Trust along with our colleagues from the Diocese, we will continue on our journey of improvement to ensure our pupils are getting all that they deserve.

When you become a part of Team Bulford, you become part of an inclusive and supportive school family where all adults and children are valued and strong relationships are built on trust and respect.

Whether you have come to our website as a current parent or a prospective parent I hope you find what you are looking for. To really get an understanding of what we are about I would urge you to get in touch, I would be happy to show you our amazing school and introduce you to our incredible team.

Mrs Karen Jeffery | Headteacher

Vision and Values

Service - Stewardship - Success | Creating a better future for ourselves and all of God’s creation

Bulford St Leonard’s (BSL) is a kind and welcoming community where everyone is supported and encouraged to achieve their own individual successes.

Our vision and ethos is underpinned by the following quote from Peter 4:10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

As an inclusive, Christian school, both adults and children are valued and strong relationships are built on trust and respect.

For our school, the value of service is at the heart of all we do and with the majority of our parents currently serving in the Armed Forces it is also a strong value within the lives of our families. Children are encouraged to show service to one another and to adults and can identify when this is happening – they know how to live this and what it looks like in their daily lives.

We understand that we are all stewards of God’s creation and children are encouraged and supported to look after the world we live in. It is also a part of our school routine to make sure that we are looking after ourselves with a strong emphasis through the curriculum on spirituality and mental health.

Success is encouraged and celebrated in our school. We know that success for each person will look different and we understand that to be successful we need to work hard and have the resilience to keep going even when things get tricky. We support each in both our academic and personal success and are happy to see others doing well.

We work closely with all our Acorn Education Trust family of schools to enrich the primary curriculum and to create opportunities for an educationally seamless journey from 3 to 18 years of age.

ABOUT ACORN EDUCATION TRUST

"PREPARING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THEIR WORLD IN THEIR TIME"

The Acorn Education Trust was formed in August 2014 to create a local solution to a national strategy. Through close collaboration and a shared vision we believe each school will achieve great things while retaining their individual identity. Underpinning this close collaboration is a strong belief in our core purpose.

School improvement is the key to school effectiveness and is at the heart of the process of raising standards. It allows us to deliver an education for all children/students that is of the highest quality. The Acorn Education Trust is driven by its core purpose of improving outcomes and life chances for students and believes that an effective School Improvement Strategy is the key to unlocking the potential in its leaders, staff and children/students. An effective Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) uses the School Improvement Strategy to help ensure accountability, drive strategic thinking and deploy resources in order to improve outcomes for its children/students. Our leadership and management of each school is based on three principles:

Every school is an improving school

Leadership at every level is critical

The unique identity of each school must be preserved
