Chestnut Park are seeking a caring and committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant with experience in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech, language and communication needs. This role requires someone with a strong understanding of how to adapt learning and communication strategies to meet individual needs, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all children can thrive.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting the educational and personal development of a child with special educational needs. The successful candidate will assist in delivering tailored learning programmes, adapting resources to meet individual needs, and working collaboratively with the class teacher to assess progress and contribute to planning. This role also includes delivering interventions, supporting life skills development, and building strong, professional relationships with parents and wider staff teams to ensure the child receives consistent and high-quality support.
What we are looking for
- A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children’s learning in a school or educational setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Confident using IT to support learning and maintain accurate records
- Ability to motivate and engage children using a range of strategies
- Organised, with good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Professional, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and the ability to uphold professional boundaries at all times

Pay Scale: GLF Associate 2 - £22,918.66 to £24,653 (dependent on experience)
Actual Salary: £17,799.88 to £19,146.86 (dependent on experience)
