GLF Schools is seeking an excellent, innovative Subject Improvement Lead, to drive improvement in English across our eight secondary schools.
This is a maternity cover position to commence from 4th November 2024.
Your opportunity
Each school has a unique demographic and culture but there is an imperative in each one to improve English outcomes and to continue to enhance and develop the curriculum at all Key Stages. The foundation for this role has been set with high levels of collaboration between the schools have and an increase of the alignment in assessment and pedagogy across the Trust.
You will be working closely with the Heads of English in each school, as well as the team of English teachers across the Trust which include very experienced colleagues, and those that are new to the profession.
You will be part of the GLF Trust Secondary Education Team which comprises a Director of Pedagogy and Practice, full time Subject Leads in English and Maths, and part time Subject Leads in Science, Humanities and MFL.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of talented and passionate staff and help shape the future and strategic direction of our Trust.

Aureus School in Didcot, de Stafford School in Caterham, Highdown School in Reading, Meridian High School in Croydon, Merstham Park School near Redhill, Rosebery School and Glyn School in Epsom, and The Beacon School in Banstead.
What we are looking for
We welcome applications from applicants with strong track records of leading improvement in English, along with,
- Being an outstanding classroom practitioner with a track record of achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level
- Having an incisive knowledge of highly effective pedagogy and practice, based on evidence-based research
- Being an excellent communicator who leads by example
- Having the ability to coach, support and challenge colleagues to develop their practice and raise standards
- Experience of being an existing or aspiring senior leader

Salary: GLF Leadership Range L11-L15 (FTE £55,254 - £60,744)
