We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Partner to join our team. We are a two-form entry primary school in the centre of Gloucester.

The successful candidate will be working with and providing support for pupils of all abilities. This role will involve working closely with the Class Teacher and members of SLT. We look to employ people with a genuine passion for supporting pupils and promoting learning and personal development to enable them to feel fulfilled and succeed to their full potential.

The position will include a combination of lunchtime supervision/support as well as classroom support.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of children 1:1 or as part of a group
  • Ensure the pupils’ needs are met and liaise with staff as appropriate to ensure the pupils are able to make progress with their learning.
  • To undertake those activities necessary to foster the intellectual and social development of children and extend the children’s language.
  • To actively engage in the delivery of lessons and activities developed by teaching staff.
  • Help create a stimulating learning environment e.g. preparation of work and resources.
  • Partake in supporting Teachers/SENCO with plans for children with My Plans/EHCP.
  • To keep up to date records and attend review meetings when appropriate.
  • To monitor individual pupils and report problems and concerns to the class Teacher/SENCO
  • Implement learning and behaviour management programmes under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO.
  • Promote high standards of considerate behaviour at all times.
  • To maintain working knowledge of health and safety issues and good practice in specific learning environments.
