Our New Building

The Judgemeadow school building was one of the first schools in Leicester to benefit from the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ Programme and opened in 2009.

The design of the building maximises the views of the Leicestershire countryside through the school’s enormous windows, and the rolling landscape provides a backdrop for diners in the panoramic café.  Glazing to the first floor makes the most of natural light, with sensors by the windows switching off internal lights when they are not needed. Other eco-friendly aspects incorporated in the design includes sensors to keep the temperature constant and heating provided by biomass boilers.

The building has flexible classroom space with partition walls, which can open up to provide bigger learning areas, and an auditorium with tiered seating that can be retracted to provide a large hall.

"Welcome" in nine languages, engraved in glass in the reception foyer, greets visitors to the school.  Other features that welcome guests to the school include a striking stone globe feature, a set of clocks showing times in other countries and a huge world map in the reception area, reflecting the multicultural and multi-faith nature of our institution, something we are very proud of.

Indoor sports provision is excellent.  Facilities include a very impressive sports hall - large enough to accommodate 4 badminton courts - a gym / dance studio and a fitness suite used by students and staff.

The school benefits from the latest ICT, with staff and students able to wirelessly access their computers from anywhere in the building or its grounds. There are also electronic library and security systems, electronic registration and interactive whiteboards.
